Playa Grande is a tranquil spot and is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the nature around us. Enjoy surfing, leatherback turtle nesting, seashell collecting, bird watching, estuary tours, aquatic adventure. But Tamarindo is nearby (across the estuary) so if you're looking for dancing, live music or a late-night party experience, you can easily find it there. For many, Playa Grande is the perfect balance of being "in it" and being away from it all.

Playa Grande is a national park (for the giant leatherback turtles) and development is highly restricted - especially tough restrictions do not allow beach-front development. This restriction aids the turtles and preserves the nearly pristine beach here in Playa Grande. Returning clients will come back to the beauty and tranquility that they initially experienced – not to an over-developed area that they barely recognize. Playa Grande is bounded on the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the east by an estuary. Mangrove trees line the estuary (a National Wildlife Refuge) and serve as nature’s nursery, providing a safe haven for many species including parrots, monkeys, crocodiles and caimans. A wealth of plant varieties, tropical flowers and exotic orchids thrive in our dry rain forest region.
